How can I return my electrical goods?
Okay, so I bought a Samsung MiniDV VP-D381

camcorder a while back from Argos, a local retailer in the UK back in May. However, the tape compartment has failed. The door itself opens, and the camera tells me that it is ejecting the tape. However, the problem is that the tape compartment does not pop out so I cannot load and unload tapes into it. It's failed completely - not jammed - as there is no whirring from the compartment.
However here is the Catch 22 - I believe I have lost the receipt for the camcorder as I cannot seem to find it. It is still under it's one year warrenty, but the only proof of purchase is the catalogue product number which I used to purchase the item. All of the accessories have been found and stored away in the box.
Anyone have any suggestions on what i can do about it?
Okay heres what you are going to do...
First you are going to look REALLY REALLY well for your receipt. If you still can not find it anywhere, then you will have to go back to the place where you bought your cam from. Try to speak with the same person who sold it for you, and explain him what happened, and that you lost your receipt. If s/he remembered you, and understood what happened they might change/fix/return it for you. If you couldnt find the same person who did so, u can talk to the manager, it might work.
If they took your name and ID No. when you bought the cam, as so many retailing shops do nowadays, then just bring your ID along with you, it will defenitely work.
Good luck with this whole thing, I really hate when that happens!
