Can I use a black audio plug when the original one was green?

Can I use a black audio plug when the original one was black? I have a pair of over-the-ear Sony headphones (MDR-V150's, see bottom of entry) and i had them plugged in to my PSP and my PSP fell out of my pocket and the silver part of the plug, the metal part the the surrounding rubbery-plastic, came out. Now I saw the green contacts on the plug and noticed they were not the normal black contacts (duh). I tried re-wiring it with another audio plug (which was black-contacted) and had no luck. Is there any difference in the color of the contacts of a 3.5mm audio plug? Please respond, all help and/or comments are appreciated! =D <3

Yes you can. The electricy just cares about the plastic being there, not what color it is.

Thanks for looking at our Green Pocket Picture information.
