How do I transfer pictures from my laptop to a SD memory card?

My dad just got a Brookstone digital picture frame and I want to put pictures on it. I was wondering, is there any way I can transfer pics from my computer to the memory card without using a memory card reader/writer? Maybe through my camera or my printer which has a memory card slot? My computer keeps saying that the memory card is write-protected. Thanks so much!!!!!!!!

On the side of the SD card is a small slider, it might say "lock" next to it. Slide this to the other side and you should be able to put pictures on it.
