How many 12 MP pictures can fit on an 8G SD memory card?

I just bought a new camera and I want to know how big of a memory card to get without getting too expensive.
My camera is a Canon EOS Rebel Xsi

or RAW (15.3MB)
or RAW+ Fine Jpeg (15.3MB+4.3MB)...and shows you approx. how many you can shoot per 2GB memory card.

I always shoot RAW + Fine Jpeg. My file sizes average 16-17MB for each RAW image and 4.3MB per Jpeg.

I highly recommend the Sandisk Extreme III SDHC memory card in 4 GB or 8GB if you need more capacity.

Each 4GB will allow approx. 920 Fine Jpegs.
